Metro Bike Rides - 9 & 10:30 a.m.
Meet
at SE corner of Freight House Parking lot in Davenport [look for the
yellow Genesis bus]. Rides will feature safe street routes in
Davenport & Rock Island, Bike & Bus demonstrations, and
giveaways. **Helmet Required**
Sunday - May 11
Bike to Worship & Blessing of the Bikes
Area pastors and spiritual leaders are encouraged to talk to their congregations about the importance of conservation. People can ride their bikes to services where their a ceremonial 'Blessing of the Bikes' will take place to promote good health and safety in the coming year. Talk to your spiritual leader about hosting an event.
Monday - May 12
Bike Commuter Breakfast - 6:30-9 a.m.
Stop off at Bechtel Park at the foot of the Government Bridge & 2 Ave in Davenport for a fill up on healthy energy. Greatest Grains is sponsoring the event which will include breakfast pizza, yogurt, granola bars, coffee, & juice. **BYOM** Bring Your Own [travel] Mug
Tuesday - May 13
Alt-Transportation On the Go
Local notables will show that commuting by bike or bus is just as viable as the car. Media coverage will address advantages and disadvantages of each.
Wednesday - May 14
Ride of Silence - 7 p.m.
This slow-paced event honors killed or injured cyclists. Riders with black armbands will ride silently through our city streets. Ride starts at the QC Botanical Center in Rock Island [2525 4th Ave].

Thursday - May 15
Showing of You Never Bike Alone followed by an open discussion about bike commuting in the QCs. Bike to the event for bonus points. Movie is intended for a mature audience and presented with the help of Global Affect - Augie's environmental organization. Donations will be accepted to help cover licensing costs.
After School Bike Rides
All schools are urged to organize bike rides in their area to promote Safe Routes to Schools. QC TAG is available for consultation on safety and route issues.
Friday - May 16
B2WW Wrap Up Party - 5 p.m.
Prize drawings for those who attend.

Book Club Discussion - 7 p.m.
QC TAG invites its members to participate in River Action's environmental book club. How to Live Well Without Owning a Car is the May selection. It is a quick read with very practical tips on how to successfully adopt a car-free or car-lite lifestyle. Discussion will be held at River Action [822 E. River Dr., Davenport - Just off Miss. River Trail] where you can share your successes and concerns on transportation in the QCs. Please RSVP if attending.
